Holiday Weekend

Channing went on the first of what I'm sure will be many, many trips to her Grandparents house in Wagoner. C met her Aunt Lois and Uncle Doug, Aunt Missy and Cousin Jamie, Aunt Mary, Uncle Guy and Cousin Jace. Grandma Linda was smart and called people one at a time to come visit. This helped with her not getting overstimulated.

Channing also went to visit my side of the family in Stillwater on Sunday. Now this didn't work out as well because she had 10 people in her face but she still loved visiting and looking around at the new places and faces. She did have a huge meltdown when we got home. We ended up having to put her to bed at 7:30pm and she slept til 9:30am. Homegirl was worn out!

Channing has her first NICU follow up clinic tomorrow. She'll see the Developmental Peditrician. We are hoping she gets a great report! She's been in training for the past three months for it. I think I've got her in tip top shape. And did I mention Channing rolled over! She's only done it twice but I think she's gonna get the hang of it soon.

One more day until I go back to work!!

6 months

From this to this!

This post is a few days overdue but better late than never!

Channing turned 6 months old on May 20. It's so weird to think that all that happened 6 months ago. I feel like it was yesterday but yet it also feels like a lifetime ago. It's really hard to explain. The past couple of weeks with Channing have been a dream. Her reflux is pretty much gone. Her vomiting has all but stopped. She sleeps from 9pm to 9am and gets up once to eat. She is almost 13 lbs. She is officially on the growth chart now. They measure her according to her actual age so she's in the 2nd percentile or something like that.

Channing had some firsts this past week. She went on her first roadtrip to Norman to visit her bestie Pearl. She also went to her first birthday party for another bestie Jillian. Channing did great in the car to Norman. She loves seeing new places and new people.

Pearl is 9 months old and she's wild. Crawling everywhere. It was exhausting just watching her. She wanted to hold Channing like she was her baby. It was pretty cute. We call Channing a party girl but she didn't last too long at Jillian's birthday. She loved looking around watching the birthday girl push her shopping cart around but then she konked out in dad's arms. Unfortunately, I didn't get any pics at Jillian's party.

I have one week left until I go back to work. I'm really excited to go back. I love my job and the people I work with. I will miss this little girl though. She'll be in the best hands with her grandparents. They like her a lot.

Enjoy The Ride

The past week with Channing has been great. Her pediatrician visited last week and told us to "relax, she's doing great". While this is nice to hear it is so hard to do. We've worried so much for so long we forgot what's it like to enjoy life but MG and I are making it a point to enjoy Channing each day. She is really such a sweet, happy baby and we've been so blessed. Here are some pictures from the last couple of weeks.

Is it just me or does she look sooo big in this picture?

Total Daddy's girl! She sees him from across the room and just lights up.

Channing's hair is falling out and I'm irrationally upset about it.

Trucker wants to play with her so bad. He tried a new tactic this morning. Getting down on her level.

My very serious girl

A smiley iPhone pic to prove that she really does smile. And before the jokes start, those are MG's legs. . .NOT mine!!!

A Big First

Channing went out in public for the first time ever! We met our friends the Phoenixs (Sara, Tripp and Elise) out at Utica Square for a late breakfast. Sara is a long time friend and sorority sister that had twins in February. I don't know how she does it with two but she takes them everywhere and makes it look easy!

I was pretty nervous about getting Channing out of the house. I was more nervous about the logistics with the car seat and stroller than anything. But Chan did great and liked looking around at everything and everyone. No one tried to touch her. Several people did stop by our table and comment on the amount of babies we had.

Sara and Baby Elise - Tripp and Elise were so good. Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture of Tripp. He's big and intense!

It was a gorgeous day and I'm so glad I got to catch up with Sara. She's inspired me to leave the house with Channing more.

Tummy Time?

Nap Time!

I've been trying to catch her with a smile on her face.
